Rabbi Daniel Sperber, winner of the Israel Prize for Jewish Studies, is one of the foremost contemporary rabbinic scholars and is universally respected for his brilliant scholarship. He is the rabbi of the Menachem Zion Synagogue in Jerusalem and professor of Talmud at Bar-Ilan University in Israel where he also serves as President of the Ludwig and Erica Jesselson Institute for Advanced Torah Studies. He is a prolific author and is widely cited by his peers. Rabbi Sperber has been a strong supporter of Yeshivat Maharat and of the concept of women’s ordination. Sponsored by the Beltway Vaad.

For this year's Annual Gala we are trying something new to nourish the community in the year ahead. The Taste of Ohev Supper Club will pair talented Ohev chefs with Ohev guests to enjoy delicious kosher cuisine from around the world, wonderful company from around the community -- all while supporting the synagogue. Over the course of the year, our goal is to host 12 meals, make 100 new connections, collect and share 50 recipes, and raise $10,000!
