We are delighted to welcome Rabbanit Chava Evans as our Scholar in Residence this Shabbat. She will give a drasha titled: "Tisha B'av and Communal Mourning Practices." During Seudah Shlishit, she will give a Shiur titled: "If There is No Flour, There is No Torah: R Shimon Bar Yochai's Evolving Approach to Torah and Sustenance."

Ohev now has a bike rack, with capacity for up to 6 bikes. If you bike to evening minyan, please use a light for safety. Thank you to Zan Frackelton, Rachel Maisler, and Daniel Alhadeff for helping Ohev become more bike friendly!

Shabbat Lunch Hospitality This Week If anyone is in need of a meal this Shabbat due to kitchen construction, Pesha Rubinstein has generously offered to host. We will connect guests with Pesha at the end of the announcements.

Calling all singers!
First gathering is Monday, July 16, after 8:15pm Mincha/Maariv
For the first night of selichot this year (Saturday, September 1), we'd like to build upon the success of the choir that sang so beautifully at the gala. We are hoping to have a choir which will sing a number of melodies throughout the selichot services to lead and enrich everyone's experience. We will meet on this coming Monday night, July 16, after Mincha/Maariv services at 8:15pm to discuss how it will work and distribute the parts for melodies and harmonies. Experience singing in groups/choirs is a plus, as we are short on time and have a great but ambitious set of arrangements. We hope everyone, whether they are singing in the choir or from their seats, will join us for what should be a stirring and uplifting selichot.

The Capital Kosher Pantry needs donations of unused school supplies (backpacks and other supplies), as well as kosher food pantry items. To donate, please see the regularly updated wish lists at yadyehuda.org/pantry-wishlist.html.

Vamos a tapear! Enjoy an evening of (fleishig) tapas & sangria: authentic (and some non-authentic) pintxos with a variety of seasonal sangrias. The dishes may be small, but the meal will not be (it's a full dinner). Hosted by Nicole Goldstein, Franklin Rubinstein, and Meir & Noa Stein. They can accommodate 10 guests (adults and children) in addition to themselves, and will also invite 4 new(ish) members. We will meet at shul at 6:45 pm for davening then walk to dinner.

Tikkun Kamtza u'Bar Kamtza: The Talmud tells us: "Jerusalem was destroyed because of Kamtza and Bar Kamtza” (Gittin, 55b). It is the story of a man thrown out of a party who then turns his wrath upon the Jewish nation. This year we will bring ritual and the spiritual concept of tikkun (repair) to the story. We will not only study a text but also fully incorporate the story into our souls through a three part tikkun ceremony. - Sunday, July 22 10:30am-1:00pm
