We are saddened to announce the passing of Rose Glasner, mother of Sol Glasner, on Sept. 30.

Mazal tov to Shoshi, Sivan, and big sister Mae Shachar on the birth of a baby boy on Oct. 1! The bris will be at Ohev on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 11am. To sign up to bring the family a meal, click here.

This Sunday after davening, Rabbi Herzfeld will lead a Hoshanot Parade, accompanied by Chaim Fruchter on electric guitar! We will give every child who attends a free Hoshanotee shirt. Davening is at 8:30am, and the Hoshanot Parade will be at 9:15am.

Remembering the Sobibor Uprising - This Weekend! 
On October 14, 1943 -- on the holiday of Sukkot -- an uprising took place at the Sobibor death camp. We will commemorate that uprising with a talk at Seudah Shlishit by Dr. Walter Reich, former Director of US Holocaust Museum, and a cantata by the choir of Valdosta State University on Sunday night. - Saturday, October 7 6:15pm & Sunday, October 8 7:30pm


Food Drive for the Capital Kosher Pantry
The Capital Kosher Pantry (CKP) helps numerous families in need who are part of our local Jewish community. In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, we are collecting ingredients that are more difficult for the CKP to secure so families can make challah and other baked goods. 

The most frequently requested foods are: pareve chocolate bits, oil (vegetable or canola), sugar, flour, honey, applesauce, raisins, and grape juice. All foods donated must be kosher, shelf stable, within the use by date, and in non-breakable packaging. We suggest that flour and sugar in paper wrapping be placed into ziplock bags to protect the packaging. Donations can be left in the box outside Sarah Shapiro's office.
