Tots (ages 18M - 3 years): Babysitting available beginning at 9:15am in the Tots Room. Tot Shabbat will begin at 11:00am. Parent participation is encouraged for this family program, but babysitting will remain available and ongoing until the end of services.

But how does Hamas fit in the larger global jihadi movement, led by groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS? And what about Hamas's role in Iran's terror proxy network, with groups such as Hezbollah and the Houthis?
In this talk, join Jordan Reimer -- a former Middle East policymaker and counter-terrorism analyst at the Department of Defense, NYPD Intelligence Bureau, and RAND -- to discuss the distinctions between these groups and the implications for countering the threats they pose to Israel and the United States.

COMPOSTING AT OHEV!
Ohev is launching a composting pilot initiative to run through the end of the year. We are hopeful to build this into a regular shul practice and ask for your help in ensuring its success. This is a small step we can take towards reducing our environmental impact as a community. We’re still in the building phase so we’d love your feedback and support as we transition to this new model.

Israeli artist selling prints - Yoni Zohar is a critically acclaimed Israeli artist. He has been in America with his family since the start of the Shimini Atzeret War. He is looking to sell prints of his artwork to help support his family until they can all return to Israel. Ohev is helping by serving as a local delivery option for any artwork you order from the website. It’s just like Sunflower, but for art. LEARNING AT OHEV
Last Tuesday parsha class of the year on Tuesday, December 19th 12:30 - 1 PM (in person or over Zoom) with Rabbi Noam Samet from Yeshivat Siach in Efrat.
Rabbi Noam Samet studied at Yeshivat Mitzpeh Ramon and later at Har Ha-Mor, and has been at Yeshivat Siach Yitzchak since 5763 (2003). He has taught at the Yeshiva since 5767 (2007). He has a PhD in Jewish Thought from Ben-Gurion University. He is the program coordinator for Herzog College’s Jewish Thought master’s programs. Rabbi Noam lives in Nokdim with his wife Batsheva and their five children.
Yeshivat Siach Yitzchak is an Israeli hesder yeshiva situated in Efrat. Originally founded Rav Shagar z”l, the yeshiva takes pride in paving the way for dynamic Torah study in an ever quickly evolving modern and postmodern world. The learning at the yeshiva combines classical text study with teamwork building, philosophical inquiry, and artistic expression. Those who walk through its doors are met with a both challenging and creative Torah, and one that is preparing a generation of young Jews to wrestle with the complex questions of today’s reality. Women's Megillat Esther Layning Learning Group with Maharat Intern Kate Rozansky Over the last two years, as I’ve participated in and recruited women to layn Megillat Esther at Ohev, I’ve heard many people say: "I’d love to learn, but I don’t know how!"
This year, I’m creating a space for the women of Ohev to either learn to layn (part of) Megillat Esther and/or to expand their repertoire of what they already know. This group will be mostly asynchronous, with regular Whastapp checkins, but with some in-person meetups (including - if there is demand - one in late December to kickstart things!).
Saturday Night Series on Jewish Sexual Ethics with Rabbanit Sara Wolkenfeld: January 27 and February 3rd at 8pm. This series will examine classical and contemporary Jewish texts which speak about sexuality and intimacy and will explore the implications of these laws and stories for constructing an authentic Jewish attitude towards sexual relations. The class is open to women of all ages, regardless of marital status.
