Mazel Tov to Brian Miretzky on his engagement to Stephanie Hoffman!
Mazel Tovto Eden Segal-Geetter on her Bat Mitzvah this week! The bat mitzvah service (to which all are invited), at which Eden will lead shacharit and lain and her brother Isaiah will lead musaf, will begin at 9:15am in the sanctuary, preceded by a hashkama davening in the chapel at 8:15am. The bat mitzvah service will be followed by a dessert kiddush sponsored by the Segal-Geetter family.
In honor of Eden's bat mitzvah, the Segal-Geetter family invites the entire community to mincha (led by Seth Opert), Kabbalat Shabbat (led by Eden), and maariv (led by Eden's grandfather Dan Segal) in the main sanctuary at 5:20pm Friday evening. A separate concurrent mincha/Kabbalat Shabbat/maariv service will take place at 5:20 in the chapel.
Kiddush is also sponsored by Belle Davis in memory of her husband, Marty Davis, and in honor of the wonderful Davis family, 226 as of this writing, into which I married.
Earthquake Relief Fund
We are devastated by the news of the horrible earthquake that has killed over thousands of people in Turkey and Syria. Please consider contributing to the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington's Earthquake Relief Fund. Funds will go directly towards disaster relief through The Jewish Federations of North America, who will coordinate with those on the ground to ensure needs are met as swiftly as possible.
