Remembering September 11th: This Shabbat marks the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. We will pause services for a moment of silence at each of the times that one of the four planes crashed, and remember the 2,996 souls that were lost.
Shabbat Shuva Shiur for High-Schoolers: All high-schoolers are invited to join Maharat Ruth for some learning and noshing this Shabbat at 4 PM in the Lesser-Bloom backyard (1387 Locust Road, NW). We'll learn some Yom Kippur Torah to help get our minds and souls ready. Please email MaharatRuth@ostns.org to RSVP!

Cemetery Visit this Sunday, September 12: Ohev's annual cemetery visit will take place this Sunday at 10:30 am, followed by the unveiling for Anna Yuter at 11 am. If you are able to give other members a ride or if you need a ride (though we cannot guarantee it), please email Alejandra@ostns.org by 5 PM Friday.
Shabbat Shuva Drasha this Monday, September 13: It is customary for the Rabbi of the Synagogue to give a major address every year between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This year, Rabbi Herzfeld will speak via Zoom on Monday at 8 PM; join at https://zoom.us/j/427064286.

The Friends of the Shepherd Park Library will hold a used book sale Saturday, Sept. 25 – but with a special pre-sale from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the library, 7420 Georgia Ave. There will be a thousand books in dozens of genre, including titles for elementary and middle school children and young adults. You’ll also be able to join the Friends and support their efforts to save the library and keep it at its current site.
