Sale of Chametz: This year's sale of chametz will be done only online; forms can be found here Online Form | Download/Print Form. Please note all chametz products can be sold and do not need to be disposed of. Wine Sale: Deadline Extended to Sunday! (March 29) Now is a great time to stock up on kosher wine for Pesach and year round! Order now and support Ohev (a portion of all sales go to shul). One case minimum order (12 bottles). Visit ostns.org/wine to place your order, which will be delivered to your home before Pesach.
Pesach Food Drive for Yad Yehuda: We are "collecting" specifically dried fruits and nuts for the Capital Kosher Pantry. Since we can't collect in-person, we are asking that you order online and ship items directly to the pantry at: 1910 University Blvd W, Silver Spring, MD 20902. You can order from Amazon | The Candy Store | Oh Nuts | and others, as long as all items specify "Kosher for Passover" or KFP. All items need to arrive at the pantry by March 30!
National Faithful Census Weekend: We are joining faith-based organizations across the country this weekend, March 28-29, to encourage members to fill out the US census. The census only happens once a decade and determines critical funding and representation for our community to flourish. Be sure to fill out the census and spread the word to ensure all of our communities get counted!

Comments on the Portion, Haftorah & Morning Prayers Contributed by Rabbi Ben Mintz
This Shabbos we start a new book of the Torah, Vayikra, which begins with God calling Moshe: "Vayikra el Moshe." Significantly, the last letter of the word “Vayikra,” as written in the Torah, is smaller than the other letters. The rabbinical Midrash states that an individual is not worthy of God's words, unless they make themselves "small," as Moshe did when God spoke to him from the Burning Bush, saying: "Who am I to go to Pharaoh?”
The parsha describes the occasions when various individuals must bring sin offerings to the Priest. In most cases the parsha states that "if," the individual sinned or thought that he sinned, the offering must be brought. The Hebrew word for "if" is "im" or "ki," and this applies to individuals, to the High Priest, or to the entire community, who "might" sin. But when the person involved is a "Nasi," a chieftain, the Torah does not say "if" but says "the Nasi who sins." The words used is “asher.” The Rabbis interpret that to say that in the case of a chieftain, that is, the head of the community, it is a near certainty that he will sin. With power comes temptation. The rabbis further interpret the word "asher," which also means "commendable" -- as in our daily prayer, “Ashrei” -- and say that a generation whose chieftain brings a sin offering is to be commended.
The haftorah is from Isaiah, 43:21 - 44:23. "I wipe away your sins like a cloud, your transgressions like a mist. Come back to me, for I will redeem you." This verse is included in the Yom Kippur prayers, in the section just prior to the prayer Shma Koleinu, "Hear our voice, oh God."
TFILOT From the daily Shmoneh Esrei prayer: We will give thanks to you and declare your praise for our lives which are committed to your care, and for our souls which are entrusted to you, and for your miracles which are daily with us.
