Friday, November 3, 2017 • 14 Cheshvan 5778
All Day for 1 DaysJoin us for a Shabbat with Rav Yehuda Gilad, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Maale Gilboa. Rav Gilad will speak twice:
Shabbat AM Dvar Torah: "Acceptance vs. Resistance: The Deafening Silence of Abraham at the Akeda in Contrast to His Ceaseless Pleading on Behalf of Sodom"
Seudah Shlishit: "The Future of Religious Zionism"
Rav Yehuda Gilad, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Maale Gilboa is a national spokesman for the morally sensitive in the religious community and has earned recognition for his outspoken views and grassroots activism in promoting a Jewish and a democratic state. He is active in Israel’s modern orthodox Rabbinic bodies, serving on the advisory council of Rabbanei Tzohar and an executive board member of Beit Hillel. Rav Gilad is a leading figure in Giyur K'Halacha which allows for conversions according to halacha, outside the bureaucracy of the chief rabbinate
Since 1983, Rav Gilad has served as rabbi of Kibbutz Lavi. He founded Yeshivat Maale Gilboa in 1993, and became a Member of the Israeli Knesset in 2002 where he served on the Education and Labor and Welfare Committees.
While busily involved in pressing social issues he remains a committed educator who believes that an intellectually honest, religious society must be built upon devotion to Torah and openness.
