High Holidays Schedule 5786/2025 (Preliminary)

This year, Ohev is thrilled to share that David Gillers and Jeremy Kadden will be leading davening for the Yamin Noraim, joined by other outstanding daveners and leyners from our community. We’ll also hear inspiring words of Torah from Rabbi Wolkenfeld, and our children will enjoy a festive Camp Shana Tova with Talia Raisel, Ohev's Youth Director.

Sunday, September 21st Visit to Ohev Sholom Cemetery

10:00am | Gather at Ohev Sholom Cemetery in Southeast DC for communal prayers and reflections. Please RSVP to alejandra@OhevDC.org by Thursday, September 18th to arrange carpools.

Tuesday, September 23rd, First Day of Rosh Hashanah
8:30am | Shacharit with a sermon by Rabbi David Wolkenfeld
10:00am | Youth Programs

5:00pm | Additional Shofar blowing at the home of Shari Kleiner and Jay Einhorn (Weather permitting).
5:15pm | We will walk together to Rock Creek to recite Tashlich together followed by cider and donuts hosted by Shari Kleiner and Jay Einhorn at their home.

7:46pm | Candle Lighting for Second Day of Rosh Hashanah

Wednesday, October 1st, Erev Yom Kippur

8:00am - 2:30pm | Men’s Mikvah Hours (suggested donation $25, please reserve a slot by calling the office at 202-882-7225 and bring your own towel. Women who wish to use the mikvah prior to Yom Kippur should make appointments for Monday or Tuesday evening at Mikvah Chaim)

6:30pm | Kol Nidre followed by d’var Torah from Rabbi David Wolkenfeld, reflections and Maariv
6:33pm | Candle Lighting & Fast Begins
